NCAE.

Finally, this day is over and the exam is over. Now we can rest and worry about less stuff. The exam was just tiring, I've been sitting for like 3 hours straight, and my butt hurts until now. Here are some tips for taking the NCAE.

  • Study a month before the exam, because studying a week or a day before the exam might stress you out.
  • Bring your ID and lunch, you are not allowed to go out of the classroom until the end of the exam, so you'll be eating there for lunch.
  • Eat brain foods like peanuts, egg, etc. don't eat junk foods. Bring bananas and chocolates as your snacks in the exam.
  • You must have at least 3 pencils with you, it's time pressured so you might waste time sharpening your pencil.
  • Sleep early before the exam and avoid reviewing, the night before the exam you should only scan your notes, don't review and memorize stuff. Just relax your mind at that time.
  • Be there on time, you can't take the exam if you're late.
  • Be sure to pray before starting the exam.
That's not a long list actually, I don't want to point out a lot of stuff, just the basics.

Photo Storage Alternatives

Ultraportable laptops are now the hit in the market. It's very popular especially here in the Philippines. Well, this is more popular for Photojournalists, Sports Photographers and Event Photographers who are on-the-go and always editing their photos.

The MSI Wind and HP 2133 Mini Note is a very useful product for Photographers who wants to carry less weight in their backs. Usually, they carry either their heavier laptops with them and it gives them more weight and the possibility is they need to strip down some stuff such as lenses which is the most common thing to leave behind.

UMPCs nowadays can handle Adobe Lightroom, because most of them has at least a gigabyte of RAM. They can handle even Adobe Photoshop CS2. So they can edit pictures on the go, and when they get home the only thing that they'll need to do is just transfer it to a DVD or an external storage device and bring it to a photo printing service.

Presentations.

You're doing a presentation, then something is wrong with it. It has a wrong spelling, how do you change it without closing the presentation in the second display using Mac OS X's Keynote '08?

I'm so confused, PowerPoint is somewhat not doing well in presentations. It's displaying the presenter tools in the secondary display rather than in the primary display, which is really weird. I don't know how to configure it, that's why I'm just sticking with Keynote now.

Could anybody help?

One more week.

There's a week more before the UPCAT, the entrance exam for UP. I even haven't started studying the advanced lessons yet. Worst thing is, I'm nervous and I didn't go to a review center so I don't have any idea what the exam is going to be.

My schedule is this coming Sunday at 6:30am. Tomorrow, I'll start reviewing for the advanced lessons, especially Math since I'm going to take BS in Computer Engineering there.

One more thing, this week is the Week of Prayer and that means classes are shortened. YEY! I'll have more time reviewing, *ehem* praying for the coming exam. I hope I pass though, if not then I'll be looking for another school.

That's enough for now, I should be sleeping now. I even lost my vocabulary notebook, I don't know where it is. I'll try asking and looking for it tomorrow. I'm tired and I need sleep. Goodnight everyone! :)

July!

I just noticed that I only had three posts last June. It might mean that I'm taking studies seriously, I hope! There are lots and lots of things to talk about but we have a short time and a limited space here and I'm getting tired typing stuff.

Ok, the Academy Prime gave me this spot which is the Photographer. Well, the good thing is I didn't accept the offer of being a photographer that's why I was changed to the Layout Artist position. Well, you might ask why is it a good thing. It's good because, my dad came last friday without a camera, and we were actually planning to buy one this week but of course there are debts to be payed and there's the story. It's the second time that it didn't come true. I even have mixed feelings right now... pissed, angry, sad.. like all the negative feelings of a person is in me right now.

Maybe I have to sleep this off for a while and get on with it. We're planning to go out tomorrow, to buy a freaking bag. Seems like, I won't be doing photography anymore. I won't be uploading pictures to my multiply, friendster and flickr accounts anymore. I won't take pictures anymore, never in my life will I take pictures. Even videos, nawawalan na ako ng gana mag-edit ng video because of that. Like you've been waiting for so long, praying and begging and what happens? nothing. This is just stupid, looks like it ain't real at all.

Start of covering my last year in high school.

Well, this is the start of covering my life in high school. Taking a lot of pictures in every events is necessary so that I won't miss a single thing. Everyday, it is also a necessity to bring my camera phone with me to take pictures in case of flash events.

SG Elections might be tomorrow, so I need to bring my camera phone with me or my camera. I'll just decide later. I don't have time, because I need to sleep. So, I'll be posting more this weekend. I'll be rounding up some events that happened this week.

Less Time!

This school year, we've got less time to study and lesser time to rest and have fun. Why? Friday, from 12:30-1:30 we have CAT, or what we call the Citizens Advancement Training. I don't really know why this is implemented but it will lessen our time to study subjects such as Physics, Math and English.

Scientists say that having 6 hours sleep is not enough. The recommended sleep hours is really 8 to 10 hours each day, and if you sleep for 6 hours or less you can't bring it back. That's why Philippines has the most number of people that has Tuberculosis because teens, or even adults sleep at less than 6 hours.

I did an experiment last time, I slept for 6 hours before the exams. The result of this: you can't think right. There are times that you know the answer but it's "at the back of your brain" that's why it takes time for you to answer. The tendency is, you finish up your time just thinking about what to write or what to answer.

One technique that I'll do is, the night before the examinations I'll browse my notes and review for around 30 minutes or so. If it's social studies, I'll get all the names or important things and then I'll write it down in a piece of paper. Then without looking at the book or notes, I'll write down on what I know about that thing. Then I'll browse back to my notes and see if I'm correct. If there are some mistakes, I'll do it again and again, until I get all of it.

Less time, means lesser time to post blogs. I'll have no time to post in my blog. Meaning less entries each month. I might then be posting only in weekends, when I have time, but please bear with me guys, 'coz it's my last year already in High School.

Anyway, this is all. I hope that you'll always check back here or subscribe to my RSS feed to receive the latest updates about technology or my life in the real world or anything under the sun that gets my attention.
